Facilities

Salt Lake City Airport located five miles northwest of downtown Salt Lake City. The Airfield has three air career runways and a general runway. Track 16Lwhich12,003 feet long, and runway 16R/34L is 12,000 feet long, and runway 14/32 is 4,900 feet long, 17/35 is 9,596 feet long.

SLC International Airport has two terminals, five concourses ( G, F, D, and E) and 71 gates. Delta Air Lines, SkyWest, and KLM airlines operate from Terminal 2. All other airlines serving Salt Lake City operate from Terminal 1. In addition to scheduled international service. Also, the International Terminal used by chartered flights and housed U.S. Customs. There are several Car rental agencies located on the lower level of the parking garage. Short-Term parking space located next to the terminals, and long –term parking located west and south of the terminal building. The long-term parking provides free airport shuttles that depart every five minutes. About ten airlines serve the Salt Lake City International Airport(SLC), including AeroMexico, Alaska Airlines, American, Delta Air Lines, Frontier, SkyWest, JetBlue, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Southwest, and United. History

In 1930 the airport was renamed as a Salt Lak City Municipal Airport. The first terminal building and the Airport construction built-in 1933 at the cost of $52,00. United Airlines began serving Salt Lake City on flights between San Francisco and New York City.
